In 2025, National Mini Storage became part of Kennards Self Storage. Joining one of the world's largest privately-owned and family-run self storage companies. Now offering high quality storage across 24 locations in New Zealand.
National Mini Storage began in 1991 in Penrose. The company grew with more convenient locations over 3 decades to become an iconic part of the Auckland landscape. Kennards started with a humble experimental storage development in 1973, there are now 126 locations across Australia and New Zealand.
We continue to lead the industry by setting the standard for security and service, whilst creating smart sites through the use of market-leading technology.
Temporary, long-term storage needs? Our minimum rental period is one month and there is no maximum term. If you need to downsize or upgrade your unit, it's easy to arrange.
During our 30 years in business, we have expanded and opened new facilities. We have also won awards for our facilities and staff in competition with other Storage facilities across Australia and New Zealand.

Our Henderson branch is opened
Our Albany, Titoki Place branch is opened, converting an existing warehouse, giving us our 7th Auckland site
Albany, Titoki Place branch receives the Self Storage Association of Australasia Best Expansion / Upgrade award
We celebrated our 20th year in business
We added The Strand, Parnell branch to our network, as our first purchase of an existing site
An extension of our Albany, Titoki Place branch is completed, adding 400 more storage units
Our Newmarket branch is opened
Hobsonville becomes our 10th self-storage branch, while Newmarket is awarded the Self Storage Association of Australasia Facility of the Year.
Our Papakura branch is opened.
We celebrated 30 years in business.
Our Ormiston branch is opened.
The Ormiston branch is awarded 'Facility of the Year' at the Self Storage Association of Australia awards.
Our New Lynn branch is opening in October 2024.
